Our Story

Yaqub passed away suddenly in August 2021 when he was 15 years old.  The loss of this vibrant, fun, and impactful young man has been devastating for all who knew and loved him.  Yaqub was joyful and intelligent and had many friends.  He was both funny and contemplative, loved sports, animals, gaming, cooking, music, anime, and stepping outside of his comfort zone.  The thought of him not being around has been heartbreaking.  Yaqub's family founded the Yaqub A Brock Foundation for Giving as a way to turn heartache into heartful joy.

 

​We believe the best way to celebrate Yaqub's memory is to give other young people opportunities to explore their passions.  Through financial grants and donations, we will help teens access extra-curricula activities they would otherwise not be able to afford.
